One of my favorite people in jazz is Cal Tjader (the T is silent). Cal could play a variety of instruments but what he is most well known for is is vibraphone work. I’m a fan of the vibraphone and so i’m a fan of Tjader, Milt Jackson, Roy Ayers etc. The first Tjader record I got was Cal Tjader and Stan Getz record, I think at a flea market, and when i got home and put on the clear red record I knew i would have to seek out more of Cal’s work. So the Jazz Song of the Week is my favorite song from that record. The players on this record are:
Bass – Scott LaFaro
Drums – Billy Higgins
Guitar – Eddie Duran
Piano – Vince Guaraldi
Saxophone – Stan Getz
Vibraphone – Cal Tjader

you need flash to play the song
