As any reader of this site will know i’m a fan of the Montparnasse 2000 label. This post and others (will break it up) will be kind of be a checklist / informative about the label. Part 2 is here and Part 3 is here
The first phase is done I have about all the basic info I have posted now. I will be adding descriptions, alt covers, links to songs, any additional info and links to buy these records online. If you have anything to contribute from a better quality picture to track listing to you posted a record for sale or shared a song on your blog and want me to link up or anything else feel free to leave a comment or email me. hello, I have a 7″ from Montparnasse 2000 (?) .
STEPHAN : ASTRE / LE RETOUR DU CHEVALIER (MP 211 046)
There is no year. I think it’s from the end of the 70’s. It’s a kind of “cosmic” disco with moog and vocoder…Does anyone knows some more about it? Thanks!

hey xavier. would you mind taking a picture and writing out the track listing when you have time?
i have one 7″ as well. i meant to post about it earlier but haven’t got around to it. on the record it say mp 03 so at first i thought maybe the early mp2000 records were 7″s but thats not the case. after i got my 7″(2000 or 2001) someone once told me the founder of the label was proud of the music and made these to get them played outside of the library world like on radio or in juke boxes etc. I never found out if this was true. On the back of my 45 it says the normal Music For: Radio and Television, Film Music but it also mentions Clubs. So maybe there was some effort to expand the awareness of what the label was doing. If anyone has any more info please add a comment
although I will add this info to the site later for those interested my 45 is a Janko Nilovic one but it features songs that were on other releases mainly Psyc Impressions. The songs from Psyc Impressions thats on the 45 are: “Love on the Moon”, “In the Space”, “Concerto for a Star” and “New Heart” and the other song on the 45 is “Psyc Impressions” which actually wasnt on the album Psyc Impressions but it turned up on the Black Jack Party album.
If anyone has any other 45s (they turn up for sale here and there) feel free to pass that along to me via email or just leave a comment.
